Well balanced, fruity (banana is prominent) - overall very well balanced. Best of all is this beer’s full texture - more like a meal than a beer. Thank goodness for Munich and their brewmasters! It’s recently available at ABC liquor in Sarasota, FL. Ritterkreuz (179), Seneca Falls, New York, USA

The aroma has hints of Banana bread, as too does the taste. djm (5), San Francisco, California, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Pretty consistent year to year. Certainly better on tap, but still quite good in a bottle. Strong hefe flavors of banana and clove. The warmer the better on this one. Nose has a banana lemon creme component, with seductive yeasty/bready notes that make you yearn for that first sip.
Palate has a good balance of the standard banana/clove interplay, with a pleasing wheat cracker taste. One of the best examples of this style.
Finish highlights the carbonation, wheat cracker again, and leaves a pleasant toasty bread-like taste on the palate. Amazing beer, world class. puggy211 (596), cordova, Tennessee, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 25, 2008 This is a nice hefeweizen with a lighter bubblegum/banana quality and stronger toasty grain quality. It is lightly cloudy gold with a very big, dense off-white head that lasts long and is creamy. Teh aroma is 1st toasty grain but this gives way to bubblegum, banana, light yeasty wheat bread, fresh plums - very nice. The taste is tingly with a light grain quality throughout plus a light bubblegum and banana quality, lemon-lime soda pop, balanced sweet-bitter character, then in the finish the toasty grain takes over for a long finish, more so than seems usual for German hefeweizens. It’s a great example. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA

I really enjoy its flavors - light, crisp, fruity, slighty sweet, with hints of orange and lemon. Nice carbonation. Should be poured out of bottle for true enjoyment, as with most hefs.
