If ever there was a beer that I could write a 3-word review for, this one would be it. And here's how it would go: "It's really good." Alternately, a one-word review would consist of: "ahhh." The Paulaner Hefe-weizen is the epitomy of refreshing and a great beer for the thirsty drinker. Actually, if I was going out, I don't know if this would be my first choice but if I'm coming in from a day of yard work, I know it would be. It pours a cloudy light orange with a head that stays for weeks. It just looks good, which in this case means we can judge a beer by its color. The aroma is quite complex with fruity, spicy tones (cloves, perhaps?). The smell is great but it's the taste we should get to...and quickly! On first taste, I tried to find the banana that I read so much about in other reviews but I couldn't. I did taste a very pronounced citrus and the spiciness that I detected on smelling was hard to detect on taste. The strongest characteristic of this beer is its drinkability. I have never had a beer that packs such a punch in the taste department that is so drinkable. This is great for those hot days when you need a thrst quiencher but it can be so very dangerous on thos nights out when you shouldn't drink too much. All-in-all a wonderful beer.

This is an amazing hefeweizen...most likely my favorite. A strong taste of wheat and lemons. Smelled dusty and hoppy. A great beer overall.

Banana, cloves, fresh baked bread, slight smoke- all these are in there from start to finish. No need to cover this up with a lemon, the flavors are all as they should be. Delicious.

Perfect with something known as "the trifecta" which consists of a Monte Christo, a Paulaner and a well performed beej. Great wheaty German summer beer.

Had this beer on 1/22/1998. Color is a pale golden with a slight haze in it, carbonation is good with a small amount of head being held on top. Aroma has a sour fragrance with a touch of lemon hidden in the back. Taste is wonderful full of spicy, and citrus flavor. It starts off with a medium body that as it goes down the flavor begins to come alive, and finishes with a sour taste that has back tones of malt, spice, and citrus. I think the best way to describe the flavor of this beer is that it is bursting with flavor, but is not overwhelming. Its the berst Hefe and is what all Hefe’s should be judged by

pours a cloudy golden color. Slight hints of orange to the color. small white head. The aroma was quite nice. It was yeasty, wheaty, and spicy, also with notes of banana. The flavors mirrored the aromas.

You’d think you were smelling a banana in a glass. Seriously. The smell is AMAZING. IT pours a hazy, dark gold color with ample white head which seems to really stick around. Flavor is quite sweet with fruity subtle notes. It is VERY smooth and silky, which matches the color and aroma quite well. Overall I’d rate this as one of the better Hefeweizen’s I’ve had. A must try.
