Aroma is cloves, bubblegum, yeast and banana. Taste is true to the aroma, quite sweet, some malts, dry, smooth with a sort of spicey finish. Moderately carbonated. Very good hefeweissbier. rdawson321 (145), USA

Aromas of banana, grass, clove, and slightly roasted malt. Notes of wheat, slight sweetness, with a slightly bitter finish. Excellent beer! Very well balanced, refreshing, and easy to drink. My wife preferred the Spaten, but I give the Paulaner a very slight edge -- it has a bit more "presence" in flavor and aroma.
I think I’ll have to test the pair all over again! [;-) Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA

Steak and Corn-on-the-cob on the grill with this brew. An excellent hefe, nearly the equal in banana to the Denison’s in Toronto, and nearly the equal to the crisp smack throughout the entire Hitachino Weizen. Overall a great beer. Oh, and the total cloudy unfiltered nature of this one wins big points in my mind. I will return to this (was that Douglas MacArthur?). highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia

Poured a bottle-conditioned hazy orange-amber colour, with a thick, lasting head. Herbal character to the sourish aroma - cloves - plus bananas and bubble gum. Sweet, thin-bodied and malty with a light, dry finish. Spices, bananas and honey are the dominant flavours. Wonderfully gentle but bursting with flavour. An exceptional hefeweizen. Terrific weizen aromas of banana, sweet spice and a little vanilla biscuit. Fruity (banana), a little bready, sweetly spicy with a creamy mouthfeel and a tart finish. This is the best weizen I’ve had in a long time! Guinnessman (89), VACAVILLE, California, USA

Goes down well with a Bratwurst and a hunk of Brie. Requires a slice of orange dropped in to set it off just right. beerchugger (301), Colorado, USA

Nice aromas of banana, clove, yeast, fresh bread and sweet citrus are most noticeable. The taste is very spicey. Spice is followed by wonderous flavors of banana, grain, and a nice citrusy aspect. Finished lightly hoppy.
