Lots of flavor from the fruit and spices with the malt in the taste. Touch of hops for good balance. Smooth, refreshing finish. I'm ready for another. Freshness date of 02/05 seen in lower right corner of front label.Still fairly fresh then. Poured out a cloudy orange-yellow color, with a bulky head. It left a more than decent head and lacing along the sides of the glass. Aromas are of banana, cloves, and yeast. Malts make a brief, but strong appearance in the aromas as well. No hops aromas evident.Thick mouthfeel. Not thin or cloying. Slight phenolic character to it, not offensive in any manner. Finishes tart, and clean. A top notch wheat beer. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2004 Appearance: perfectly cloudy straw yellow, with a majestic white head atop.
Aroma: everything you want in a hefe weizen, fresh, citric, fruity, but still somehow dry, straw-like, so very lemony, and that element of yeast fills the nostrils as well.
Excellent texture, great play on the tongue, spicy, but smooth. Fresh, fruity, delicious. Medium bodied, tasty, longish finish, very memorable flavor. The yeast and citrusy taste dominate and create a most adequate beverage for any occasion.
Drinkability? I could toss down a million of them!
I still rank Schneider and Weihenstephaner up above, just slightly, but there’s not a thing wrong with Paulaner’s offering, not a thing at all!

Taste is typical hefe with notes of banana, bread dough and vanilla. Lack a bit of character for the style; I don’t understand the commercial description.
