Poured a nice cloudy dark gold color with nice fizzy/bubbly white head that lasts. Aroma is banana, lemon, a bit of yeasty doughiness. Flavor is nice and light, but not watery, spiced banana with bit of lemon. Overall, perfect warm weather beer. Had this with a friend around a bonfire and couldn’t have asked for a better choice. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 31, 2003 This one pours a cloudy, deep golden color with a medium sized white head that lingers. It has a nice yeasty, bubblegum-like aroma with a hint of banana and cloves. The flavor is fruity, with a crisp finish and slight lingering sweetness with yeasty tones. After the disappointing Sierra Nevada wheat, this one has lifted my spirits back up and reaffirmed my belief that the meaning of life is to drink good beer. skortila (2914), Bunnik, Netherlands

Cloudy orange coloured; lasting head. Taste is decent too perhaps a bit watery, consists of wheat and fruit notes, some spices. Smooth, refreshing palate. I like this one. Hard to believe I’ve never gotten around to rating this one. Hazy golden-orange with a ridiculously large white head. Big hefe aroma with a nice citrus edge. Full bodied with a creamy middle and a crisp finish. Flavour is bang-on for the style. Finish is a bit sweeter than some, but still, this is a great example that I enjoyed immensely. It’s really one of the top Hefe’s coming out of germany. Good clove/banana aroma, It’s always so damn consistent. That’s perhaps what I like most about it. lovelacm (48), Niceville, Florida, USA

Thus, not quite as large a head as I’m used to. Light, cloudy Amber body. Aroma was very nice - banana, clove, cinnamon, fruity. Flavor was excellent - much richer banana flavor with less spice than I prefer. Full, creamy texture with a long, slightly sweet finish. Very nice, indeed. I picked up the beer as a single to fill out a six pack of new beers. The pour left a medium to large head and the beer, oh how the beer had a wonderful blend of haziness and cloudiness that dull the orange color. It is and was the best looking hefeweiss that I’ve reviewed. It has all the fruit, banana, a bit of oranges and lemon. Each sip leaves a charming lip smacking feel on the lips. This is going on my warm weather drinking list, of course in Florida, that means 9 months of year!
