Dark yellow but still far from amber colour, with a nice white foam. Aroma and taste of malts, bread, a bit caramel, hops and straw. Fresh mouthfeel but a bit short finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Aroma is rich malt, roasted nuts and sweet honey with a background of hops. Pours rich copper color, no head retention and super-clear. Flavor begins with sweet honey and roasted nuts and a nice smooth carmeliness. Finishes with a spiciness in the throat, probably from the hops. Medium to light body. Drinkability is medium to low. Not that impressive. Seems a little off style for a Marzen. msiano (30), Belmar, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Roasty dark malts combined with some fruit esters, and a bit doughy. It pours a red amber with a full white head that fizzles into a white collar, nice lacing. Nice sweet flavor, that is not too sweet, minor tartness, great balance mid-tongue bitterness. Perfect, velvety smooth, beautiful balance. GJF (513), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2008 I think this is a superb oktoberfest. Big, bold malt, bread, and caramel flavors. A rich body with a sweet, spicy tang followed by just the right touch of hop in the finish. I’ll pour another.
