This is currently available in Australia as the "Oktoberfest Bier to go" with a 1 litre can inside a branded Stein glass. It pours clear bright golden with a substantial foamy white head that lasts for several minutes. The nose is grainy malts with sweetcorn and subtle grassy/citrus hops. Flavours are similar with a light-medium body and thin mouthfeel with low carbonation providing very easy sessionability (ie. the whole point of this beer). It is a good easy drinking beer but surely over-rated because of the "good times" associated with the consumption of it. At a well hidden 6%ABV, I can see why there are so many headaches in Munich every October!

Yellow, completely clear, with a rather big white head. Good head retention and nice lacings. Light malts, white bread and a fresh mild herbal hop note in the nose. The taste is rather sweet with malts and toast up front. Light but fresh grassy and herbal hop notes. The finish has some bitterness to it, a a quick hop flare and some malts. Clean and refreshing with decent flavors. Moderate to light body, quite a lot of carbonation. A decent beer. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

bottle- pours a faint amber color, lighter than the other oktoberfest beers I’ve drank, it seemed a bit spent, nice white head though. The aroma was very promising very creamy and malty with light fruity tones. Unfortunately the taste doesn’t do the aroma justice, quite bland and slightly metallic, in my opinion lacks the maltiness of the other brews. I’ll stick to the Augustiner or Spaten tent.....

500mL Bottle -- Pours reddish-amber with a white head. Very sweet smelling nose with some caramel notes. Big roasted malt character backed by some grassy notes and a mild bitterness. Sweetness dissipated quickly for a nice crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours clear, pale gold with a bubbly white head that quickly shrinks to a ring around the top. Light aroma is grainy and grassy with hints of caramel and herbs. Flavour is also light and very similar to the aroma: malt and some grassy, herbal hoppiness stand out with subtle citrus and caramel also. Fairly light bodied with a lingering bittersweet finish. Pretty good marzen.

Poured from bottle into mug. Clear rich copper. Rapidly forming head but diminished to a fine line. Smell of biscuit, toast, nuts, toffee and metallic bitterness. Biscuit and toffee are most pronounced, with some cherry fruit and noble hop bitterness. Unlike many American versions, the sweetness is kept to a minimum. Moderate carbonation with a clean smooth body. Mostly dry. This is my prototypical Marzen, but I used to enjoy it more than I do now. Sometimes having an expanding palate sucks as it destroys old favorites. Even if no longer a favorite of mine, it is still very good nonetheless. Prost!

Austere nose with malty German character. Beautiful dark amber color. Sharp attack with smooth Oktoberfest flavors and an intense finish. Quite enjoyable.
