It is red amber with a medium off-white head that steadily dissipates to a thin ring and wisps. The aroma is malt, whole wheat bread, caramel, and pine. The taste has nice sweet-bitter balance, with malty, caramel, whole wheat sweetness and sourdough followed by light cypress-like, aromatic bitterness that complements the rest nicely in the finish. It is somewhat complex, very tasty, lively, and very nicely balanced, with a good body. georgekessel (68), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The color was a chestnut orange that radiated as I held it up to the fireplace to admire. Low white head. Aroma of the fields, grains; tastes were butterscotchy with a clean medium finish Floback (337), Naples, Florida, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Nice amber color with a thick white head. Smells of malt, bread, honey and a little bit of hops. The flavor very malty, with a slight sourdough bread bitterness. The hops come through a little bit in the finish, but are not very pronounced. Nice full bodied mouthfeel. A solid brew - although I probably would have enjoyed it more in a drinking tent in Munich. yespr (12406), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Slight breadish and mild hoppy aroma. Flavour is medium sweet cornish/cereal with a mild honey like herbalness and a mild hoppy freshness. Ends with a medium sweet and slight bitter hops note. Quite nice. mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA

Aroma of lightly toasted malt with some honey notes, very appeasing. Hits the mouth with a medium body, hops and sweetness from start to finish, finish slowly goes away, which is nice. Yea! daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep golden brown, with a thick white, billowy head. Rich Malty aroma, although it is a bit raw. Medium to heavy body, with a very raw grain flavor. Not much hop character to set off the malt.
