Aroma is syrupy caramel sweet malt. The hops are mild yet sharp, and very well balanced to the malt. The carbonation is just about right, the beer is not flat, but does not feel like soda. Pretty good beer here!

The flavor is cardboardy with fruit and caramel. Nice on the palate. Minerally with almost no hops. Kind of thin, but toasty. Toxygen (366), Sanford, Florida, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle from Arden Wines. Fizzing gold under a high white bloom. But it is in a Schneider Weisse trumpet. Sweetcorn relish, aspirin and mown grass aroma; blossomy hop and Munich biscuit once the head has gone. Papery and slick with a sprinkle of sherbet. Noble hops like pencil shavings, lemon curd on cardboard, breadstick dipped in honey. Disturbing Disprin-like aftertaste. Hops coniferous but industrial, malts bready but unassertive. Drab and efficient. Sorry. mar (1944), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 17, 2009 This is currently available in Australia as the "Oktoberfest Bier to go" with a 1 litre can inside a branded Stein glass. It pours clear bright golden with a substantial foamy white head that lasts for several minutes. The nose is grainy malts with sweetcorn and subtle grassy/citrus hops. Flavours are similar with a light-medium body and thin mouthfeel with low carbonation providing very easy sessionability (ie. the whole point of this beer). It is a good easy drinking beer but surely over-rated because of the "good times" associated with the consumption of it. At a well hidden 6%ABV, I can see why there are so many headaches in Munich every October!
