Shannon127 (11), USA Mar 24, 2008 This is the standard for Oktoberfest Bier. Excellent color, very true to the style. Flavor is unmatched in festbiers. As others have said below, it is the best mass at Oktoberfest.
nqualls (575), Tennessee, USA Dec 1, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a small white head. Aroma of caramel. Flavor was caramel malt with a citrusy finish. Ceebs25 (79), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Dec 1, 2008 .5 L bottle. Aroma of grain and caramel malt, mild fruitiness, and some citrus lemon. A very large, fizzing, tan cream head on the pour that entirely dissipates rather quickly, good amount of carbonation, pumpkin orange in color. A similar malt presence to that in the aroma, but the hop backing gives this a beer a semi-off grassy-weedy flavor that I don’t especially enjoy, though the finish isn’t as bad with a sticky lemon-citrus coming through. Was hoping for better, but I suppose I’ll live to drink another beer, another day. Aquilo (182), California, USA Nov 30, 2008 Copper color with a thick head. Smells like carbon dioxide. Tastes like carbonated water with some malt. It’s palatable, I guess, but ultimately this is a waste of malt and hops. ScoWRee (228), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2008 Pours a cooper color with a thick tan foamy head.. Aroma of Oak, Malt and Hops. Taste is a little watery. Nut much going on here. hellbilly (940), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Nov 20, 2008 on tap @ papago... pours a dark woody bronze-ish copper. clear with a slight white head. the aroma is not faint... it just doesn’t have much going on. caramel ( and lots of it), grain and earthy spice are about it. the palate is quite caramel-y and sweet while the flavor falls into the ’not much else’ catagory... maybe some light earthy yeast and a spiced finish. prickly carbonation. thick mouth feel but only because of the sugars. sweet and sticky... not refreshing or satisfying.
