Simple but very, very drinkable. Reddish brown with small tan head. Sweet malts in the nose. No surprise, sweet dark roasted in malts in the taste as well, with caramel, hints of sweet chocolate, hints of sweetened coffee. No hop bitterness, sweet finish. Average mouthfeel. But very enjoyable after a long hot day walking in Singapore.

Draught at Paulaners im Spreebogen, Alt Moabit, Berlin. Only went here because we found Brewbaker to be shut during the day (despite info to the contrary) and this place, which is mentioned in the Germany GBG, is nearby. I was very surprised when I realized later that I had not rated this beer. Sweetish and malty. Touch of milky chocolate in the aroma. Palate is more sticky caramel. Gets a bit cloying. Nice rich, clear red/brown colour.

Draught in Munich. Pours russet-mahogany, with beige head. Fruity toffee aroma, and quite sweet on the tongue, with malt and raisins predominating. Pleasant mouthfeel. Decent Dunkel.

[bottle] Creamy aroma with some dried fruit, including prunes as well as some white grape notes. Clear garnet with a fizzy beige top of big bubbles that drops to a ring. Sweet brown sugar flavour with some soda cracker, prunes, coffee, and finishing with a nutty bitterness. Liquorice and almond notes. Subtle bitterness tries to balance the sweet malt, but comes up a tad short. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter walnut finish.
