500ml bottle: poured a very nice looking ruby red/brown with a medium sized tan head. The head disappeared quickly. Very nice, albeit light, roasted malt aroma. Nice light roasted malt flavor with just a hint of chocolate. I think Paulaner has nailed down this style. This is a good beer if you’re into dunkels.

Another version of the Paulaner Dunkle. Big red color with tan head that seemed not to want to leave. Big nose of roasted malts, and other flavors like coffee and chocolate. Palate is rich and smooth. Good to the last drop.

aroma initially gives dough, however moves onto more roasted malts. Taste is roasted a bit of burnt toast, though caramel is quite present also.

A Mes rate: Not bad. Still not sure about German dunkels. Candy sugar and vanilla in the nose. Wonderful looks. Deep mahogany brown colour with a thin but well lasting head leaving spotty lacing. Creamy flavour. Chocolate hints and a stout like coffeeness about it.

The flavour is burned and sour. Very sweet aroma. Malty notes. Chocolate in finish and aftertaste. Quite boring.

Brownish colour with a huge light brown head. Aroma of caramel with light hoppy notes. Good dunkel.

Draught. Ruby red colour, mediumsized foamy off-white head. Weak hayish notes in aroma along with malts. Caramellish malts with some roasted and sweety notes. Sticky palate.

My 200th German beer rating.
Dark ruby red, small off-white head. Lemony hoppy nose. Crisp, light malty roasted flavor. Slightly sweet. Short aftertaste. Quite boring dunkel.
