| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Pours a clear, medium straw hue with a short, yet creamy, white head that quickly fades. Aroma most definitely of Weetabix and grass clippings, light overall, with perhaps a touch of honey. The flavour is very mild, with some very light pear-like acidity. Bready sweetness finds its way out at the finish, the initial taste being rather devoid of everything. The finish also holds a slight oily grassiness, but it’s not much and does little to please. Light bodied with moderate carbonation and a watery, empty mouthfeel. Lacks everything that can make a Helles interesting. 50cl can, Leffe goblet, bbe 06.08. glennmastrange (866), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Tap. Aroma was light all around. Cereal for the malt, grain and grass for the hops, and dough and earth for the yeast. The head was small, white and fizzy which mostly diminished but left fair lacing. Color is sparkling clear gold. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finished lightly bitter. Body was light to medium, texture was dry/watery and had a fizzy carbonation. Overall a tastey beer but nothing outstanding. wxman (588), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Bottle date 07/07; really fresh. Pours a pale yellow with a thick whipped egg white head. Aroma is sweet malt and fresh bread. Taste is sweet pale malt with some slight maple syrup notes and mild hoppiness. Very good South German helles; for those who prefer a pale lager slightly maltier and less hoppy than a pils. heavy (869), Split, Croatia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 13, 2007 0.5 l can. Pours crystal pale yellow body with small head. Sweetish grainy aroma, too much... Flavor quite well balanced not bitter not sweet. Light bodied, with watery texture leaves medium a bit bitter finish. Nothing special, expected much more. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Bottle, Aikmans, St Andrews. Gold, thin white head. Nose is malty, maybe just a hint of grassiness. Mouth is fruity hops, with some generic bitterness sneaking in and dominating. Pretty good, but nothing special from a macro. Buonina, ma vale il discorso di sopra.______________ENGLISH TEXT HERE______________Less pipps, history or not; Paulaner Hell, today, is not very different from its colleagues in the same style from Spaten, Riedenburger, Bitburger, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbrauhaus and anyone can add names; the difference is the usual Paulaner difference, especially in the aroma, which this time remains a bit disappointing anyway.33cl bottle bought at a good price at the Iper supermarket in Serrapalle Scrivia; pours a very clear yellow transparent liquor, with generous white head. Sweet malts in the aroma and flavor, which is badly balanced with too little hoppy bitterness. Nice, but nothing special.
