Noble hops and malty malt fill the nose in a perfectly balanced crispness. Crystal bright straw with a fizzy top that doesn’t last long. The flavour is everything that the aroma promised: modestly sweet malt that tastes like it just came from the farm complimented by a pleasant, spicy hops flavour and gentle bitterness. My only complaint is a more than detectable taste of ethanol that penetrates the gentle flavour. Quite a bit of body for such a small beer. Could use a tad more carbonation too. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate hoppy aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet dry finish of moderate duration. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Pours a clear golden color with small and big bubbles goinf upwards and a thin, bubbly white head. Good aroma of bread crust and crisp malt. The hops are mostly undetectable in the aroma but are more present in the flavor where the noble hops are joined by a good crisp malt and bread crust, there is also some mild citrus. The body is medium and oily while the carbonation is gentle. This a very pleasant and competent lager. brewgirlca (57), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Bottle. Clear, deep straw yellow. Poured a fine tight bead that lasted a reasonable time for a light beer. Earthy spicy Euro hop bouquet quite evident in nose. Low malt as per style. Flavour was the same with a distinct Eur hop spciness. Could have used a bit more malt character to balance the hops, came off just a bit to dryish and thin at the finish, even for a Helles. Good drinking beer on a hot day after a long bike ride. ghawener (983), San Salvador, El Salvador
