Commercial Description:
When the Original Münchner was brewed for the first time at the end of the 19th Century, it was a spectacular success. With its hoppy taste, subtle, light and elegant, it becomes ever popular. Today the Paulaner Original Münchner is the best sold Münchner Hellbier (lager beer) in the world and Paulaner's No. 1 export beer in over 30 countries with its wonderfully subtle, spicy, naturally hearty taste.

Very clear, golden-yellow body with some bubbles rising from bottom of glass to surface. Head is thick, white, largely-bubbled, and quick to dissipate. Aroma is fresh grass, lager yeast and slight banana ester; soft, but luckily nothing offensive. Taste is full and strong, carbonated, yet thin bodied on the tongue. Tastes of fruit, malt, yeast, pepper, and a bit of hops. All in all, this is a fine example of a lager, but as its German, its not so suprising. For a macro-brew, this kicks ass. Sampled from a 350ml can, purchased at "Lider Mart" in Arica, Chile.

Gold in colour with medium to high carbonation. Aromas of light malt, some German noble hop, and a slight touch of sulfur. Pretty much your standard pilsner light malt+hop combo as far as the flavor goes. It could have used a bit more bitterness and hop flavor, and perhaps it lacks a bit of snap on the finish. Overall this is an inoffensive, but well made German lager.

Pours clear golden, with a small white head. Aroma was grainy and a little sour, no hops at all. There is nothing standout about the beer, the palate is dominated by sweeter malts and the finish has some light grassy hops and a slight bitterness. Enjoyable to drink, but nothing fantastic.

Bright yellow gold hue, with an off-white head, toasted pale malt nose, with a hint of straw accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp grainy sweet pale malt, bready note, leading towards a soft lingering bitter hops finish.

A pretty decent lager. Nothing really grabbed me about it, but nothing really detracted from it either. Preferable to their hefeweissbier, IMO.

Not terrible here, but nothing completely outstanding, either. Pours a clear light golden into the glass with a medium-diminishing sudsy head. Complex aromas of sourmash, lemon and hops to the nose. A light, hoppy flavor predominating through the backend. Some light malt flavors with small citrus notes. Refreshingly cleansing to the palate. All of the components seem to be there, but in individual states. There just doesn’t seem to be anything drawing the complete package together.

Pale yellow colour with a medium mostly lasting creamy white head. Mild aroma and flavour. Good on a summer day.
