| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2004 This one came out of a bottle. pours a standard light gold/straw color with a fluffy white head. Aroma of noble hops and a hint of malt. Has the light "candy" sweetness of lager malt cleaned up by a mild, well balanced bitterness. Medium body with light carbonation. Nothing too complex here, but an all around solid lager. haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 9, 2004 Draught at the Alexander Hotel, Derby. As DeepBlack said before serving, "it’s not bad for a lager". Looked OK, good deep straw body with controlled head, whiff of maltiness in the nose, dry and cold finish that wasn’t particularly inspiring; of course I’ve had worse (jeez, I’ve had B*d) but I’ve had better mass product than this. stoutmonkey (3), Australia does not count | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Nov 9, 2004 I think I had a bottle that hadn’t travelled too well - smelt very strongly of baked beans/tomatoes. Very elegant looking - straw color, although little head retention. Palate was light although slightly stale - I don’t know how old the bottle was. Was dissappointed as I tried this after reading many good reviews. I may try it again from another stockist. SledgeJr (2963), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2004 In the bottle. A very pleasant lager. Pale golden color with a fine arousing head of white frothy bubbles. Great lacing down the glass as the beer is consumed. The aroma of mown hay takes me back to Munchen and the great time I had drinking this stuff at Die Wiesen. While one should only have a beer like this von fass, the bottle will have to do for home use. IHCNavistar (93), Orinda, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Nov 6, 2004 Bottle. Aroma of sweet hops and a little banana. Color was goldish. Flavor is weak and tasts slightly like banana, somewhat similar to a weizen. Carbonation was disappointingly weak, if at all. Disappointed overall. Not a repeat buy. This bottle had more skunkyness in the aroma, and the palate was uninspiring. Deep gold in color, with aroma of hopcit, slight honey, and a taset of malty subdued sweetness combined with hopcit and a finishing smooth honeyishness.
