Bottle brown, 500 ml, got it in Munchen.
Appearance: Pours pale golden, practically yellowish, practically perfectly clear, light bodied, body is well saturated, initially the carbonation is lively and quite intensive throughout but constately gets calmer, head is initially big, slowly decreasing to medium, irregular and rocky texture, reminding me snowy white, frothy, cotton wool, very thick and impressive lacing.
Aroma: Generally not strong, simple mild and gentle sweetish malted barley at the background, rather poor in terms of the amount of hops but due to the light body herbality in hoppy profile is still felt, notes of moneral water, rust, mild softness, very simple, fresh, streight forward and regular.
Flavour: Very pure and clean without unnecessary adjuncts, thin, grainy, strict, streight forward, notalbe notes of bitterness and gentle herbality in retro-nasal aroma, clean with notes of minerals and metal on palate, clean and flat aftertaste, being on the border of Low Alcohol and Helles.
Palate: Body is light, texture is in fact very watery, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is slightly astringent, grainy and herbal, slightly salty, not that easy going either as regular Pilsener or a regular Dortmunder/Helles.
bburychka (55), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 9, 2009 Almost no discernable flavor. I have to agree with other raters that it takes like a non-alcoholic beer. While it didn’t taste bad, there was just nothing there. I’d rather order a soda than one of these. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Apr 9, 2008 Bottled(500ml). -as Paulaner Münchner Hell Leicht
Pale golden coloured, small white head, Lively carbonation, dusty and slight N.A. nose. Weak malty with hint of hops and notes of corn in the finish. The taste is similar to N.A.beers although there’s 3.2%. Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Apr 7, 2008 0.5l bottle, as Paulaner Münchner Hell Leicht, shared with and courtesy of ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a pale golden colour with a medium sized thick white (chem?) head that went away slowly. Fizzy. The nose isn’t promising, with the notes of vegetables/cabbage reminding one of n/a’s. Some honeyish maltiness can also be found in the nose, along with some weak hop and dust. The taste possesses some n/a malt notes again...corn? Hope not. Some weak underlying, somewhat acidic hopiness. Light cardboard, some weak and rare nice fruity maltiness, and a bite... coming from the carbonation I guess... maybe from hops. Had much worse, but I also had better beers weaker than this. Ah, well. kappldav123 (1790), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 20, 2007 The bottle looks typical Paulaner – not too bad. The beer tastes more like the non alcohol Münchner Hell than the normal one. Not so good. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 4, 2007 Bottled. A light yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with light hoppy notes. The flavor has no sweetness, but strong notes of straw, leading to a dry end. And the body is thin. A boring light beer. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 29, 2006 Updated: Mar 30, 2007A yellow pour with a dedcent head retention. I don’t think it is as bad as everyone says. It just lacks charecter. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 2, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Clear, pale pilsener golden with a nice, tall, white head. Malty aroma. Thin and watery body with cardboard being the primary flavour. Sad. 160806
