donteatpoop (112), Youngstown, Ohio, USA Mar 28, 2008 This was one of the most beautiful beers I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing. It was a deep ruby red that almost seemed to have an light inner glow.
The smell was nothing special, and in no way impressive. A light hint of hops to it, but otherwise unnotable.
Taste was slightly above average, hops dominating the mouth and little else making itself known.
Was a little bitter in the mouth, and I felt that it was slightly over carbonated.
I would not call this beer particularly drinkable, as I found myself really nursing this one.
All in all, not a bad beer; extremely appealing to the eye but not so much to the mouth.

Aroma is fruity, with hints of bitter-sweet chocolate malts. Flavor is consistent with the aroma, with a touch of alcohol (brandy/port). Palate is light-med bodied, slighty water and slick. Overall a very enjoyable, highly drinkable dark lager.
