Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy, moderate to heavy star anis and anis seed. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081129]

Dec 30, 2008 30 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished off-white head. Spiced aroma of annis seed - solid liqourice. Dry and spiced flavour with a solid liqourice and mild acidic to dry/roasted malt note. A bit too much on the spices, but not unpleasant.

Dec 11, 2008 Bottle, 8%. Anise aroma. Muddy brown colour, there is some yeast from the bottom of the bottle. The flavour is citric and slightly malty. Distinct anise flavour. A little one-dimensional, but I like it.

Nov 29, 2008 Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of spices, especially star anise and cardemomme. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of spices - star anise being strongest, but also with notes of caramel and straw. The finish is very dry spicy.

Oct 23, 2008 Bottle. Malty, spicy aroma: anis, cinnamon and coreander. Cinnamon, mint, anis and corander in the malty sweet flavor. The spicyness doesn’t bother me initially, but later on it really does. Licorice in the surprisingly short aftertaste. Not unpleasant for lovers of spiced beers.
