Flavor is pretty middle-of-the-road Belgian, goes down alcoholy or spicy, something with a slight burn anyway. mixos (100), Thessaloniki, Greece

Nice full body and hints of alcohol. I like it alot, but i think is so sweet, more than the ususal standarts. Muggus69 (567), Sydney, Australia

Slightly murky amber body with thick creamy head that coats the glass.
Rich caramelised malt aroma with lots of peppery, spicy phenolics. Alcohol is reasonably prominant with subtle ripe fruit notes in the background.
Thick body, chewy texture, carbonation is somewhat subdued seemingly adding to the richness of the body.
More rich caramel flavour on the body, slightly burnt character about it. Clove and pepper spice leads onto sweet ripe banana and bubblegum esters. Bitterness is probably a bit low and leaves the palate quite sweet overall.
A decent Belgian strong, probably falls below the standards of alot of Belgians in this catagory I feel. obguthr (1079), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Draft: Served in a mini-yard. Apple and candy sugar nose, with a vinegary presence. Hazy copper, thin yellow head. Malty with a light sweetness. Bitter leafy finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Kind of a hybrid English/Belgian pale ale, if not for the slightly elevated alcohol content, which is very well concealed. KYbrewgal (16), Kentucky, USA

Carmelly, toffee, malty sweetness, no hops. Smooth medium mouthfeel. A nice easy to drink Belgian Special Ale. hawthorne00 (159), Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Bottle, Trappist chalice. Hazy brown, head (in this glass) fades to a nice rim and coat. High bead. Aroma of honeyed orchard fruits and light dough. Fairly sweet malts, some funky yeast, almonds and grassy hops. Alcohol well hidden, although as it warms it starts to stick out a bit. Spicy finish. larsga (3000), Oslo, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Huge pale brown lasting head. Brown body with powerful carbonation. Fruity dates and honey aroma with alcohol and wood notes as well as spicy cinnamon. Sweet-dryish dried fruit and honey taste with floral toffee and alcohol notes. Full, but light body. Hot mouthfeel. Complex, fresh palate. Dry caramelly wooden dried fruit aftertaste with metallic herbal licorice notes. Excellent! Light, delicate, easty to drink, yet complex.
