armando629 (512), Budapest, Hungary Dec 7, 2007 One of my favourite beers...Kwak has a unique character. The color is the classical amber whit a nice amber head. The taste is superb, includes a good caramel and hopy flavour with a lot of spicy things. In the aftertaste you can feel some vanilla and cinnamon. Good one, i like it very much.
EFC1878 (134), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Dec 2, 2008 Bottle. Pretty much lacking in everything. Head immediately vanishes, little aroma - malt and alcohol, some fruit but not enough for the style and a surprisingly thin body for its ABV. Nothing nasty, reasonably pleasant but ultimately too straightforward and a disappointment. EHopper (171), Minnesota, USA Nov 2, 2008 Aroma of banana baby good, not translated in taste. Just an easy drinking beer, nice, balanced amount of malt, fruit and spice, with some light candy sweetness. oldrtybastrd (1793), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Oct 30, 2008 Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a darkish red/brown. Aromas of spice, coriander, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor has an alcohol taste to it, mixed with a nice smokey dark fruit. Also has strong hints of spice and orange. Miksu (1357), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 28, 2008 0.33 l bottle. Amber color. Sweetish, tart, fruity, spicy, toffeish and caramelly aroma.
The flavor is toffeish, caramelly, tart fruity, peppery and slightly clovey with slightly warming palate. Pleasant enough to drink again, pretty tame in belgian standards. jbuzz (566), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bubble gum and rich roast in the aroma. Creamy and long lasting. A very nice easy strong Belgian to drink.
