johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Aug 13, 2007 Bottle bought in Bath. Clear copper appearance with a gentle hopppiness.
No carbonation but nevertheless a lively and pleasant drink. A bit expensive though. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Jan 24, 2007 500ml bottle from Paxton & Whitfield in Bath. Bottle conditioned. Warm copper pour with a cap of white. Floral aroma, hard candy. Dried fruit, pears, a full soft flavor. A gentle bitterness lingering around the edges. A lively and interesting beer. Feels like it captures unusually well the delicate goodness of modest strength cask ale in bottled form. Also cool to see a cheese shop selling its own labeled ale, and recommending it (justly) as a wonderful cheese companion. imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jan 24, 2007 Bottle conditioned, 500ml. Golden brown with white bubbly head. Fresh hoppy aroma with a touch of yeast and hay. Dry light bitter, fresh and grassy with plenty of hops on the tongue. Long and bitter finish, a very decent beer.
