Commercial Description:
Dark beer. It has a strong body, dry flavor, given by an excellent balance between sweet malts, roasted malts and hops. You can drink it after the dinner, with raw shellfish (in the Irish tradition), marinated fish; it's also excellent with sweets, fruit cakes and chocolate cakes.

Bottle shared with Blankboy, Hogtown Harry, and company, thanks R!! Now this one is much better than the Red! Smoky malt aroma, very nice. Smoky malt taste, tons of roast and balanced well with the smoke. Very dry. No sign of the alcohol. Almost chalky. I love well done smoked beers and this fits the bill, wish I wrote some better notes during the tasting, but this will have to do; would love to try again.

Bottle from a tutta Birra. Very full flavour, toasted malt, some soot, some discreet sweetness. I would not mind another!

Bottle.(Volo) Pours dark brown with large fine white top. Slightly sour, grainy nose, fruity rich back drop with light hint of lactose. Medium bodied, acidic coffee, dark roasted malt character in the middle, a bit flat at finish helped with good dose of clean alcohol.

Cloudy dark brown w/ soft finger of light brown foam. Aroma of roasted, chocolate malt w/ a light, slightly tart fruitiness. Highly carbonated, spritzy feel. Sweet, malty, somewhat sour flavour w/ notes of licorice & espresso. Finish is bitter & mildly earthy.

Dark brown, murky body, nice, not too tall, lasting beige head. Smoky and salty aroma. Interesting balance between roasted maltiness and tarty hoppiness. Not sure if the experiment worked. I was perplexed at first, then definitely pleased after the first sips. Worth a try, anyway. Medium body, slightly bitter and moderately yeasty finish.

Aroma di malto tostato. Al gusto si presenta estremamente bilanciata. Nonostante la gradazione l’alcol è quasi impercettibile.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with red tinges and a creamy off-white head. Nutty roast aroma, hazelnuts, raw beans, and some vanilla. Medium bodied with nutty flavours, toast, and chocolate. Dryish finish.
