Pours thick hazy amber with respectable fine white top (4- ).
Soft, clean warming alcohol aroma. Smooth ale, slightly sour at edges, substantial fruity sweetness. Gentle soft bitterness just made this beer even better.
tomthompson89 (1456), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 15, 2006 Had this one thanx to my good friend Doug Shoemaker at Volo. nice malty nose, definatly sour. slightly citrus some sweetness, very nice. Cloudy amber, sweet with some yeastiness. I should probably have let the sediment rest a bit in this one. Fruity, some Belgian style sourness. Quite decent as it warms up. CEZ (369), Milano, Italy Jun 22, 2006 Deep orange body, slightly hazy. Short-lived white head. Smell is rather weak; fruity (orange) and slightly hoppy. Mellow and round malt balanced by a delicate sourness. Yeasty tarty notes may remind of belgian ales, but it’s probably the hops which give the brew a definite English character. Body is medium, drinkability is excellent. Finish is not quite as bold and bitter as I would have liked, but, this is still a very interesting and well-balanced ale, and something you usually don’t expect from Sicily. Good work, P.B. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 4, 2006 Bottle shared with Blankboy and Hogtown Harry and company, thanks R! Deep dark yellow, small white head. Funky sour malt aroma. Dry sour malt taste. Yeasty. Lemon aftertaste. Ok, not great, but neat to try! DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Oct 6, 2006 Sour pit fruit aroma, and some malt, hazy, red/orange, pours a small custard head. Taste of apricot and red plum, is softer than the aroma, with some spicey malt @ la Belgian, some citrus. Medium bodied, pleasantly sweet and sour, tongue tingle, This offering reminds me of a much lighter version of a Belgian red.
