Pours golden orange into the glass, with a frothy white head that leaves soapy lace. The nose is doughy, with a hint of spices. The flavors are not extremely complex, with some nondescript malt, lively citrus hitting mid-palate, and a balance of hops that finish the pull. There is also a hint of butterscotch essence during the finish/aftereffects. The mouthfeel is light and carbonation levels are active. The texture is somewhere between thin and seltzer-like. Again, not a whole heap of complexity to the brew’s profile, but it does go down easily enough, and makes for a good all-year offering. It cleans the palate during the summer, but provides just enough substance for cooler months. Decent job for a hard-to-find contract offering like this.

Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Slight aroma of sweet malt and biscuit dough. Flavor is very light but it has a nice light balance of hops with a very slight bitter finish. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either.

Draught at the Boone Saloon. Pours copper, small white head. Some hops in aroma, bread, grain. Flavor similar, with a bit of butterscotch. Not too bad, but not exceptional either.

Draft at Bistro Roca, Blowing Rock, NC. Not much too this, but it’s not bad at all: Slightly hoppy, amber in color with a bready, malty background. A decent, inoffensive and relatively balanced mild ale. This is definitely more of a mild than a pale ale, given the color and maltiness. Clean, inoffensive and moderately priced at $3/pint. Served in a Foothills glass (found that funny).

bonus bottle from goldtwins. pours a rich golden straw color with a thin white ring for a ’head’. lightly sweet grain aroma with notes of orange, grassy and noble-ish hops. it kinda tastes like grainy iced tea... citrus, grain, grass and a mild bitterness throughout. dry finish. light bodied. nothing special but it is a quite refreshing 100 degree outside yard tinkering beer...

4-19-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to Degarth
Clear yellow orange with no real head (definitely nothing that lasts). Smellis subtle and weak. It is muted and malt and maybe a hint of hops. Taste is really watery and weak as well. There are some hops in there but they arent very fresh or appealing. Watery and thin. Drinkable, I suppose - but so is water.

12 oz. bottle - thanks to gottalottaibu for the trade; pours clear and dark yellow with no head; aromas mix of nuts and stale malts; bland flavors and thin body, it is what it is, a decent east drinking session brew
