An interesting beer that I bought at Peabody’s package store in Boone, NC, and for whom they said this was brewed special. Although there was no outstanding quality on which to rate this beer, it would in fact be a very good session beer....low in ABV, smooth tasting and a decent finish. I can and will buy more of these on my next rip to Boone.

Freebie I got today at peabodys. Cant believe I went to school for 4 years at App and I never once drank this beer. Yellowish colored pour with a tan head. Smell is corn, grains, and some hops and some sweet malts. Taste is rich and frutiy, and it actually is pretty decent despite people calling it a "novelty" beer in previous ratings. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the freebie Brandon.

bottle. My expectations are quite low for this beer, it seems to just be a novelty item for Peabody’s. It’s also extremely cheap: $6.00 after tax for a sixer and only $22.00 for a case of 24. Pours a very clean dark gold and supports a hefty, white head. The aroma is a little tame, but packs adequate piny hops and sweet malt to give me some hope. The flavor is actually quite good. I have no complaints, especially not for this price of it. It provides an excellent balance of citrusy brightness and an even, palatable caramel taste. Some toast shows up in the finish. It’s reasonably mild and all around an awesome session beer.

Bottle: Pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma, grassy lemon notes, light bready and pale malts, some citrus. Flavor, citrus and grassy hops, some grains, pale malts, a slight metallic taste on the finish.

12 oz. bottle - thanks to gottalottaibu for the trade; pours clear and dark yellow with no head; aromas mix of nuts and stale malts; bland flavors and thin body, it is what it is, a decent east drinking session brew

Bonus bottle courtesy of Degarth. Thanks!
Pours light, mostly clear orange with a very small short lived white head. Smell is bright fresh, clean malt and faint simple grassy hops. Taste is rather simple malt, with some lemony character, and lightly bittering and flavored hops. Hint of a lemony tart twang, in a nice way in the finish. Pretty mild and easy drinking but not a lot of flavor. Still not bad at all.

Draft at Bistro Roca, Blowing Rock, NC. Not much too this, but it’s not bad at all: Slightly hoppy, amber in color with a bready, malty background. A decent, inoffensive and relatively balanced mild ale. This is definitely more of a mild than a pale ale, given the color and maltiness. Clean, inoffensive and moderately priced at $3/pint. Served in a Foothills glass (found that funny).

Thanks to Ross for this one. It pours clear dark straw with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of bready malt, some cirtus, hops, and apricotty fruit. Tastes crisp, fresh, with a fruity, citrusy, hoppy flavor with some honey at the finish. Medium bodied and refreshing. Methinks this one is underrated a bit.
