The aroma is the beer’s best quality and is filled with freshly brewed coffee. I wish I had stopped here. The flavor is weak, washed out coffee along with some even more watered down caramel malt. Weak finish. Thin, watery body. After a very promising start, this beer was disappointing. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2009 a great looking beer with a cloudy brownish amber hue under a medium sized creamy beige head. aroma of milk chocolate and fresh sugared coffee with cream. flavors of potent coffee(maybe a little too much), vanilla, milk chocolate, white chocolate, ice cream. smooth palate almost creamy. i don’t even notice any "amber" here. pretty good but it’s all coffee. shawn92 (5), Plymouth, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 28, 2009 The beer has a very strong espresso aroma--somewhat chocolately. The flavor is much more bitter than I would have hoped. Unlike the aroma, the flavor is does not have a strong espresso flavor. In order to cut down the bitterness, I mixed it (half and half) w/ Breckinridge Vanilla Porter. It was much more drinkable in this mixture. vtafro (477), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Bottle.(most recently but have had on tap). First coffee/espresso flavored beer I’ve had an amber pour. Espresso aroma is apparent but not overpowering and the flavor is sweet and full of roasted coffee and chocolate. Great beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2009 12oz bottle: Pours a transparent dark amber copper with a large, pillowy, clingy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of rich chocolatey espresso and some sweet dark caramel notes. Starts with average fullness and mild toasty sweetness with a nice balance of assertive, roasty bitter coffee beans before a smooth, creamy mocha finish. A very unique concept and well executed. This is the first coffee beer I remember having where the base beer wasn’t of the stout/porter style. BeerGuyTWMore (48), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Pours straight amber with thick off tawny head that dissolves after first sip; aromas of sweet espresso and malt; taste of espresso up front, malt in the middel, and mild hop finish; palate holds the espresso and the hops for a good minute...best coffee/espresso beer I’ve come across nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 6, 2009 The aroma is exactly like a cup of coffee with lots of sugar. The appearance is deep amber with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma with some malt poking through but mostly it’s just coffee. The palate is smooth. Overall this one has probably the most coffee flavor that I have had in a beer and that includes coffee stouts. It’s only fault is the astringent bitterness that is from start to finish. But, this is one of the better organic beers out there.
