Draft at Sheffield’s. Pours a nice amber with offwhite head. Nose is pleasant, like a serial mash with light maple notes. Taste is much the same, like eating a bowl of oatmeal with a kiss of brown sugar. Very nice grainy notes come through. Stays robust. I actually thought this was pretty good and exactly what I would expect from an oat ale. Nice.

Impressive, rich head of three fingers. Settles slowly and in a rocky fashion. The color is a neutral amber with lots of cloudiness. Strong maple candy aroma. This could almost be a Port wine in terms of the sweet nose. Thin body. Interesting bitterness that caught me completely by surprise. I like the contrast of maple sweetness with the bitter hop. The aftertaste is disappointing--very short lived. It lands on me like a good novelty beer--very different, interesting, but only mildly worth drinking.

Pours lazy amber into a Sam glass. White head quickly recedes to sicken surface. Sour butterscotch aroma. Soft with sweet Brach’s butterscotch and sour candy corns. Dried wood finish.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of butter/diacetyl (fucking Shipyard), creme brulee, butterscotch, maple, toffee, and a hint of brown sugar. Poured orange in color with a small, off-white head that diminished quickly but lasted around the edges. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of butter/diacetyl (fucking Shipyard), butterscotch, maple, toffee, and toasted grains. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, maple, toffee, butter/diacetyl (fucking Shipyard) finish is slightly dry.

Nice rich amber color. Light maple aroma. The flavor, however, is maple-y as hell. Not particularly sweet, just really woody maple.

Bottle, pours an amber brune body with an off white head. Very grain with some lighter maple, malty caramel notes. Malt dominated thin and simple. Session able light but the name hardly delivers the lush maple and woody oats that i had hoped for.
