Spice sweet aroma. Light brown amber color. Sweet nutty flavor with some sour yeasty notes. Medium body and a smooth finish. Not a bad ale but as with the other Peak Organic, not the best of the style.

Tasted 5/1/08. 12oz bottle. F’n contract brew. Filtered with an amber hue. Spiraling beige head. Nutty cocoa aromas. Medium bodied malt roast. Grassy. Lighter side of medium bodied. Cookie and graham cracker malt flavors. Toasty and nutty. Almonds? Good malts and modest hops. Toffee flavor. Woody hops. Mild acidity and slight bitterness. Decent.

Not a bad ale, just not worth the hefty price. Albeit, a very smooth beer, clean taste, just not very flavorful. In other words, there is nothing wrong with this beer, it’s just too bland. A beer I will gladly drink if given to me, but not a beer I would purchase.

Bright umber color with a foamy beige colored head. Aromas of biscuits and mild citrus soap. Thin fell and flavor seem to go hand in hand tonight. Hints of caramel while the citric component takes over and I am suddenly sucking on a stale orange. A return of bitterness with an odd black malt bite. This has not been a memorable night for brews.

Of the three Peak Organic beers I’ve tried, this one was definitely the best, although by no means did it stand out in my mind as a great beer experience. Still, pretty drinkable. Appearance was pretty normal; minimal head with a copper colored body that was clear but not brilliant. Aroma had some off notes to it; there was caramel-ness and a touch of sourness, but also with some sourness. First sip gave the impression of smoothness which was a side-effect of a lot of diacetyl flavor, which I felt didn’t really belong. There was nice caramel maltiness and some ashtray mouthfeel to it that I’ve experienced in the Peak Amber as well. Not bad, but hardly terrific. Why do these Peak beers grate my mouth like I’m licking an ashtray? I wouldn’t really recommend this beer. I bought this bottle at Woodman’s in Oak Creek, WI.

Balance, Balance, Balance. From the red-brown color to the hop-malt-hop taste. This is a special brown ale with a sizzling head.

Bottled, BB July 08. Poured clear, lighter reddish-brown with a short cap of tan head. The aroma was soft with nutty notes and sweeter chocolate.. some grains and earth under there.. simple, but pleasant. The flavor had artificially-sweetened nutty notes and sopping wet grains surrounded by light tacky earth bitterness.. very short, sweet finish. Lighter-bodied with high carbonation on the palate.. earthy and light metallic twang on the dry finish. This wasn’t bad, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

12 oz bottle. Light brown pour with a 2 Finger tan head. The aroma is light/nothing. The taste is light with a bit of sweetness.
