| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Dark brown color with no head. Light chocolate aroma. Very dusty mouthfeel. A strong earthy bitterness and a bit more of chocolate. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Pours a nice clear dark brown with a tan-nish head. Nose isn’t as robust as I would love for it to be, but there are still tones of nuts there. Flavor is very earthy with a massive robust and consistent flavor profile. Great body to it. Never falls off at all. Feel has a full and slightly biting carbonation to it. Liquid is fairly thick and bodied. Overall a very drinkable beer. Easily sessionable and something I would hunt down on tap and definitely if it were on cask. Cornfield (4945), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 29, 2008 My bottle’s label pictures a bunch of Peak drinkers at a wedding. I don’t want them at my house. Ugly packaging. The beer looks okay, a clear reddish brown with a creamy ecru head. Not much lacing. The aroma is sweet with caramel and has some nuts and a light earthy bitterness. Those hop flavors grow in the flavor, nearly supplanting the malt’s dominance, and leads to a dry & bitter finish. Personal Milestone: Brown Ale rating #100 (out of 4018)!!!!!

This one even has a quote from a random drinker on the label next to a photo of a golden retriever. When will a brewer come out with a picture of a fat guy sprawled out on his sofa watching television? Anyway, this had a sweet, tangy aroma, and a little red in the coloring. Solid brown ale flavor - grains up front, giving way to yeast and malt, with some hops taking up the rear. A little thin and sour, but still a flavorful brew. aliendan (25), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2008 On draft at D’s Six Pax, which, by the way, isn’t charging the 10% Onorato tax yet, which offsets the fact that everything is overpriced there. Anyways, this beer is a reddish brown color with a small tan head. The subtle aroma is a bit sweet and fruity. Light bodied with medium bitterness but not much malt character. Pretty bland. michael-pollack (2691), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 27, 2007 Draught: Pretty much no aroma. Just a hint of malt and nuts. Poured copper with a hint of amber in color and a medium-sized off-white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor of butter, Ringwood, yeast, and water. Horrible taste. Light to medium body. Thin, watery texture. Average carbonation. Dry, buttery finish. Overall, ewwww. porterhouse (1156), Alna, Maine, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2007 (Bottle (best before 3/08) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/wiscasset target=blank>Treats) Boring...Pours clear light brown with five fingers or so of foamy light tan head. Aroma initially is a little malty, hints of vanilla. As head recedes I get a bad dishrag-sour smell. Mouthfeel is smooth enough I suppose, a little watery with some prickliness. Lacing is sloppy and patchy, as the large head never really settles down. Flavor is a bit of nuttiness, perhaps faint brown sugar, some milk chocolate, cocoa and vanilla as it warms. Some sourishness off-flavor hints in the background. Not too good overall.
