BeerBelcher (744), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 15, 2008 I remain unimpressed with the organically-produced beers I’ve rated. This "pale ale" was more reminiscent of a witbier to me than a hoppy-styled beer.
This beer poured a slightly hazy orange color, with a Sprite-like head that faded to a puffy cloud-like head after a few minutes. Aroma was really strange for a pale ale - I got a lot of coriander and (not very pale ale-like) citrus-ness. In other words, its aroma was very much like a witbier rather than a pale ale. Flavor was similarly confusing - a bit hoppy but with some other witbier - like flavors. Mouthfeel was unremarkable.
I can’t say I’d recommend this beer. I bought it as a single-serve bottle at Woodman’s in Oak Creek, WI.
kwoeltje (1220), Manchester, Missouri, USA Sep 11, 2008 (draught) medium amber with white head and nice lace. Hops and malt in the aroma. Flavor is biscuit malt with nice hops finish. satan165 (131), River Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 21, 2008 a bit more sharpness on the tounge then the maple oat but this is as average as i thought it might be. maybe its just the idea of ’organic’ but all these brews seem to just be easy going...but not in a macro brewed rice beer type of way. this is just ......’meh’ Dandman629 (13), Ashburn, Virginia, USA Aug 17, 2008 Would you ever turn down a beer because it was not "organic"? We all love beer. Who really gives a damn if it is organic or not. This might have been the second organic beer I have ever had. The commercial description states "It’s a cross between west coast pale ale and a british style pale ale". It has the taste of a west coast pale ale and the consistency of a british pale ale. The beer has a light copper color and a walnut/caramel/maple scent. It tastes much like a light in flavor IPA with hints of caramel and citrus. Not too bad an organic beer, but nothing to brag about either. cblado (86), Wisconsin, USA Jul 29, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a pale golden color. Aroma was very malty. Flavor was similarly malty, very little bitter hop flavor. How is this an APA? A disappointment overall. Beerman6686 (780), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Poures a clear orange color with a small off white head. Aroma was pretty mild, a bit hoppy and grassy. Flavor tastes like water and hops, very strange.
