rudolf (1540), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 1, 2006 After looking at what came in my glass I confirmed that this was the proper beer with the bartender. Clear ruby/copper body, light tan head. Nose has coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, a hint of maple (?) Quite roasty malt. Flavor is dusty chocolate malt, a hint of coffee & smoke. Finish is quite bitter with grassy notes & some cocoa. Seems more a brown ale than a porter but maybe they’re going for an old style british porter. Very good to see new beers popping up at Pearl St - I hope to see more soon!
