Commercial Description:
A very strong American-style Double IPA, Saber's Edge will sheathe your tongue in an explosion of hop flavor, tempered by a rich, full-bodied malt presence, and packing a real punch at 8.0% ABV.

7.5% ABV. 16 ounce sample at the brewpub. Sweet citrus hop aroma with a great deal of orange-tangerine. Nicely aromatic. Transparent copper body with a nice, creamy off-white head. Sweet, sugary underattenuated start. Watery body. Becomes a little husky towards the end. SPicy hopped bitterness with some noticeable tannins come in later. Flawed, not so good.

Copper body. Nose is caramel, a lot of piney hop, rich malt that reminds me of something Flying Bison would release. Flavor is that rich malt, bitter pine needles, honey. Really bitter finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Appearance: Dark orange, small white head. Aroma: Dusty, orange, pineapple, lemon, yeast and mango. Flavour: Bitter melon, pineapple, hops, bitter in general, a little alcohol, nice bitter finish, pretty solid and a nice surprise.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a nice clear deep golden-orange with an average size creamy white head. Aroma is decently hoppy with lots of resiny hops. Flavour’s the same, lots of resiny hops backed by caramel malt. Quite a bitter finish and the alcohol is well hidden. Good body for the style, medium to full. A solid DIPA.

On tap at Brewpub
Appearance: clear amber brew with large creamy top , thick wrap of lace.
Nose: strong , sweet citrus-caramel feel supported by warmth of vodka. Proper aroma. 7+.
Flavor/Palate : Mid full bodied. Sticky ,sugary texture, caramel based with citric alpha hop in blend. Low carbonation. Alcohol was well covered. Good effort but felt underpowered for double IPA.

Enjoyed a the brewpub. One of their better brews although a fair DIPA. A bunch of C-hops in the taste, the aroma, and then sugared down. Not very balanced. Lacey. More of a 1.5X IPA. Average mouthfeel though really tastes like sugar added in the mouthfeel as well.

Cask @ Chelsea’s Brewing Co. in NYC this past weekend. It pours a hazy body with white lacing. Aroma is pine hop, with some malt. The flavor is some what watered down.
