PuckLSHS (101), USA Apr 18, 2005 Pours a hazy yellow, just like all the other Wheat beers out there. This one has more banana flavor which makes it more of a bavarian wheat. The only thing is, this beer feels more like a mix of American & Bavarian Wheats. This one is one of my favorite beers at Pearl Street.
blipp (724), Grand Island, New York, USA Jun 6, 2008 Advertised as Wild Ox Wheat. Pours hazy yellow/orange with an off white head. Aroma is fruity with banana and brown sugar. Medium, smooth body. Flavor is lightly sweet with banana, lemon, a hint of clove, and trace hops. Pretty solid. estoppel (1017), Buffalo, New York, USA Dec 15, 2007 Draft. Yellowish body, slightly hazy, white head. Pretty much your basic paint-by-numbers microbrewed hefe, with strong clove flavors, weak esters and a lemon slice substituting for citric hop character. tagz (308), USA Sep 1, 2007 light cloudy yellow, a slight brown hue. little to no head. very mild yeast and citrus on the aroma. the tasted overwhelmingly of lemon. they went all tart on this one. the yeast provides a little depth but there is none of the banana or funk that should accompany a good hefe. the carbonation is decent, but the palate is watery. its definitely drinkable but below average for the style. swoopjones (1115), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 22, 2007 on tap @ Pearl Street. Simple hefe nothing real special here. Average body. Usually a fan of hefe’s but this one needs some work red éric (1382), montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 6, 2007 Beer coming with a slice of lemon, slight hazy yellow hue, with a yeasty fruity nose, with a faint banaish, nice citrus fruitiness, a bit spicy, weak wheat malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with yeasty citric fruitiness of grapefruit, lemon peel, hint of cinnamon spiciness, with a wheaten accent, leading towards a fruity, spicy hop dryness.
