Quite grainy, soft and malty ale with a mild smoky touch and almost no hop aromas. Rather mineral mouth presence with a stoney dryness that hampers the soft and toasted caramel tones. It’s all in lightness and lacks a proper closing act, just lingering grainy notes. Average. bierkoning (6092), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 26, 2007 Tap, Doelencafé Rotterdam. Traubenzucker aroma and flavor. Blonde, cloudy. Citrus flavor with the first signs (and maybe even more) of an upcoming infection.Remaining hops in the aftertaste. What has happened to this brewery?

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2003 On tap. Clear amber coloured with medium-sized head. Malty, hoppy and bit flowery aroma. Hopbitter flavour and finish. Very thirst-quenching. The bartender told me that sometimes (because of lack of time) they also serve the unfiltered version of this beer, which should be better than the filtered version. By the way my Pelgrim Stoombier had 4.5% ABV. thijs van vlijmen (257), Utrech, Netherlands
