Aroma is somewhat nutty, with some orange zest and toasted maple maltiness. Rich and sweet, with an almost sugary caramel glazed over some dark sweet rye bread. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Nose of lemongrass, kafir lime leaf and some toasty malts and earty hops. Sweet pumpkin, ginger and brown sugar. The flavor is crisp with juicy watermelon sweetness and a bright toasty malt body and an apricot and beach hot note. The finish is bold and crisp, very nice and hoppy BdG. Pleasant to drink. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA

Malty caramel aroma with some yeasty notes. Big caramel toffee flavors with medium cherry fruit notes and some earthy hops. Very decent. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 11, 2006 Bottle: Dark coppery amber, visible sediment, HUGE rocky beige head, sticky lacing, moderate carbonation.   Nose of Toffee covered popcorn, cake frosting, slightly bready.   An odd duck, but certainly not bad.   Not getting much floral or barnish aroma in this BdG.   Very slight floral aspect on the tongue, but its hidden behind the sweet malt character, slightly bready.   Smooth on the tongue, body and mouthfeel are fairly robust.   Finishes with a real quick hop bite, remaining with a fairly sweet malt character that is slightly earthy.   Definitely unique.   Thanks Stephen for the trade!

Earthy caramel malty aroma has some tart cherry old ale character. Starts with a sweet malty character balanced with some earthy hoppy bitterness and light fruit, but thins toward the finish. Not quite a true Bičre de Garde, but pretty close. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of pine hop with earth balance and citrus. Flavor of candy, fruit, yeast with a little sour in the back of the tongue. Alcohol warming finish, smooth. Bottle was filled to the very top (I’ve never seen a bottle filled so high). Poured a darker copper color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of spices, citrus, light grass and a little earthy. Tastes of yeast, some fruits, citrus, and light grass. As I got to the bottom of the bottle, leather came out in the aromas. Nice dry finish. TomDecapolis (3203), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of sweet fruits, earth and citrus. Flavor of candy, fruit, yeast and a little spicy burn up front. More hops overall than I expected...but I really like that aspect of it.
