Commercial Description:
A dark brown color, with a balanced aroma of roasted malts and Northwest-grown hops. The sweetness of the ale, crystal, and chocolate malts blend beautifully with the assertive flavors of Cascade and Mt. Hood hops.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] A brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet and slightly hoppy, while the flavor is just like an English brown ale, primary notes of roasted malt, slight note of caramel, with a dry end, and a thin body.

Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Dark brownish amber with rich, creamy head. Lychee aroma. Medium sweet and fairly light bodied- Pleasantly hop aromatic with a salty finish that holds medium biterness. Not spectacular or overpowering in anyway, but thoroughly well balanced and made.

Bottled. Dark amber/copper coloured, small beige head. Bitterish fruity aroma with malty and spicy notes. Spicy flavour with hints of fruits and hops growing in finish. Sweetish aftertaste and sticky palate. Appleish aftertaste.

Medium everything - colour, aroma, palate. I’ll go with Axemaster on this one, as it really did little for me.

Dark brown, small creamy off-white head. Malty, a bit chocolaty and roasted hoppy. Chocolaty, roasted, very stout-like flavor. A bit watery for 6% beer.

On tap at Pilsener Room, Portland and brewery tap, Pacific City. Deep brown with lasting beige head. Great malts, toffee and subtle roastiness. Very drinkable. Dark malts, bit of choc/coffee. Lovely soft feel in mouth. Really tasty and lovely malts.
