xsketchyx (184), Oregon, USA Mar 2, 2004 Another disappointing brown ale. Woodsy and roasted, lots of hops for a brown, but I would have liked a little more sweetness, and a thicker feel.
LawStudent09 (320), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 2, 2008 Thanks to Skyview. Dark copper pour with a dirty white head. Very nice hop profile on the nose. Sweet sugar and caramel malt in the taste along with a slight bitterness. Well done. JK (2479), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Oct 1, 2008 A solid brown ale. Caramel and molassas, on the sweet side. Lightly roasted malt and some lactose with a thicker than usual palate. shadey (1343), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 16, 2008 On tap as part of the sampler tray at the Brewery. Pretty simple - I’m surprised at the high ratings. It was obviously quality, but it was quite simple in aroma and flavor. Probably would have been good with oysters or clams. A good dose of hops make it a little different from other browns. stchloe (197), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 2, 2008 SBF ’08 Big malty body, touch of bitterness, and everything a brown ale should live up to. nimbleprop (594), Washington, Washington DC, USA May 18, 2008 Sampled at the Savor DC event. Pours a translucent amber brown with a wispy white head. Sweet, malty, sugary, inviting aroma. Flavor has plenty of malt, chewy grains, toffee and nuts. Finish is clean and dry. Solid, drinkable session beer.
