Commercial Description:
Everything you love about India Pelican Ale, but more of it! Imperial Pelican Ale is a batch of our India Pelican Ale with extra malt and hops, boiled for twice as long and dosed with extra dry hops. Enjoy the huge Cascade and Centennial hop aroma, the subtle malty sweetness, and the spicy, citrusy flavor of this robust, amber colored ale.

Thanks to cmaruschak for sharing. The beer is a clear dark orange color with a medium ivory colored head with decent retention. Patchy lacing. Citrusy hops aroma that also has a good amount of sugary sweet malt. Rich and smooth body with a nice citrus and hops flavor. Strong malt base as well, plus some pine notes. The finish is hoppy at first with a lingering aftertaste of sweet malt and spices. Really good, but honestly did not impress me as much as the India Pelican Ale.

My first impression on tasting this beer was that it was like chewing on a pine needle (or maybe what I think it would taste like). A decently hopped DIPA, I wouldn’t classify it as an award winner (although apparently it has), but it is good. Piney hops in the nose and palate, decent malt profile and it makes one good DIPA.

Huge, dare I say monstrous zesty Cascade aroma. Everything that was tasty about the regular IPA is displayed here, but in bigger and better quantities, and this has the flavor of all kind of fruit, balanced malt character that can stand up to the tangy fruity spiciness displayed by the hop characeristics. Finishes, smooth and somewhat bittersweet, and never once tasted any heat from the alcohol, very nicely done.

Golden/orange color with full off white head. Aroma was citrusy, hops, some pine, a touch of sweet malt. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. The elements of the aroma were echoed in the taste. This is a good IPA but doesn’t, in my opinion, merit consideration as an Imperial/Double. Still, it is a good drink.

Orange gold color. Medium head. Aroma is floral and piney but needs to warm a bit to tell.. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are floral, piney, grapefruit and citrus. Very nicely balanced. Hides the 9.5% alcohol very well. Bitter yet the malt sweetness shines through. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
