KnutAlbert (2928), Oslo, Norway Jul 2, 2009 Lovely piney nose, some oil, citrus.
First class IPA. Tons of hops explode in the mouth. Sweet malt uenderneath, but the hops win the battle and linger on for a long time. mgermani (810), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 20, 2009 Pours a crystal clear rosy copper with a decent head and some marvellous laceing. Aroma consists of plenty of bitter, oily pine. Yum! Very dry, bitter taste - light biscuit character. Good amount of sweetness upfront, but is consumed by dry hop notes and alcohol - scotch like in terms of dry heat. Great carbonation, crisp body. This is splendid! Reminds me of all those over-the-top IPAs I enjoy when visiting the US. I suspect this would age well. nhorween (633), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 16, 2009 bottle, thanks zeswaft. a more-bitter-than-usual IPA. chewy and full bodied, citrus, piney hops. enough malt to balance. enjoyable. Cletus (4314), Connecticut, USA Jun 16, 2009 Pours light copper with an off white head. Smells of resin, some spice, citrus. Tastes of citrus, some caramel, peppery, nice spicy finish. cmonster (40), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 14, 2009 Bomber served in a tulip. Golden honey in color with a pillowy off-white head. Big nose of pine and sweet citrus. Pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, orange, and a good deal of malt in the form of caramel. The attack has a sharp, hoppy bite with a bitterness that holds through the finish. Medium body. Creamy and very sticky mouthfeel. Excellent brew! Sparky27 (1386), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 19, 2009 Bomber courtesy of writerljberg – thanks Luke! Pours a glowing dark gold with a 2 finger dense off-white head that lasts throughout the entire glass and leaves spotty lacing. The nose is sweet ripe citrus and caramel malt. The taste is toffee, tangerine, orange peel and tart yellow grapefruit in the finish that lingers. Medium mouthfeel. Solid IPA – thanks again Luke. leems (57), Portland, Oregon, USA May 15, 2009 I must say Phil the Pelican is on to a good beer here. I get very little aroma off of this beer, the little I get is understated and piney. The flavor is pine, herbal and resiny hops with a little malt character. The finish is nice, a little pine and alcohol, delicious. brianprentiss (467), Portland, Oregon, USA May 13, 2009 really fantastic beer. smells amazing and the taste is tremendously balanced and complex. from bottle
