PhillyBeer2112 (2083), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jun 1, 2008 Throwdown. NIce resiny hops. Good clean bready malts. Balanced finish, but a bit leaning to the hop. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2008 Sampled at Dickinsonbeer’s Hoboken gathering. Lightly hazy orange in color. Aroma- alot of citrus, earthy hops, mostly grapefruit. Taste is alot of citrus-grapefruit, lightly earthy, with a smooth moderate bitterness throughout. Nice malt backbone, medium bodied. Very straight forward but that single dimension was quite enjoyable. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA May 27, 2008 Shared with my pals DrBayern and doboy @ Matts house. Pours from bomber rather a hazy orange that settles down. Nice foamy head, lacing is terrific. Aroma of pungent pine resins, grapefruits and wet forrest. Flavour was explosive, hop hammer bitterness delight! Pine resins, hops, caramels malts and grapefruit. One helluva IPA, would love to try it on tap. WOW! hayduke (1616), Eureka, California, USA May 27, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured a beautiful clear light orange color with a very attractive white head and fantastic lacing. Simply beautiful. Nose of citrus hops and fruits, with hints of pine. A treat for the nose. Mouthfeel is medium bodied but very smooth. Flavor is a good as the aroma, with much of the same great hops. Long light bitter finish makes this one of the easiest drinking IPAs I have ever seen. A simply wonderful brew and darn I only had one bottle. Got to get more. TomDecapolis (3122), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 26, 2008 Thanks to hopdog for passing this one onto me. Pours a hazy orange/amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head that left a bunch of spotty lacing. Aroma of orange, pine, lots of fresh American hops, caramel and lightly toasted notes. Flavor of pine, mixed citrus, nice and hoppy, caramel, lightly toasted malt and moderate hop bitterness. doboy (175), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA May 26, 2008 Thanks CelticBerw for sharing this with DrBayern and me. A nice, very hoppy nose. the head was nice and lasted, very lacy on the glass.Huge hop aroma that was most pleasent.
Great mouthfeel ! This golden colored nectar finished with great bittering that lasts! DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA May 25, 2008 22 oz. bomber courtesy of CelticBrew and shared with him and Doboy on 5/23/08. Clear gold with a medium white head that persists nicely. Huge fresh hop aroma of citrus and pine over a base of honey. They must have dumped a tractor trailer full of hops into the fermenter.
Medium body and carbonation as expected, and a very resinous, lip smacking mouthfeel. Quite bitter right from the start, and although a substantial malt base provides some balance, it’s definitely not the main event.
A long, bitter finish of citrus zest brings things to an end. A hophead’s delight, but just a bit unbalanced I think. Still, very enjoyable, but not for the novice. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA May 16, 2008 Clear amber with a fleeting head. Big citrusy and floral hop aroma with some light caramel sweetness. Medium body and lightly carbonated. Great taste mirrors the aroma with big citrus and floral hop riding a lightly sweet pale male base. Wow, really good ipa here, love to try this on tap sometime.
