| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2008 22 oz. bomber courtesy of CelticBrew and shared with him and Doboy on 5/23/08. Clear gold with a medium white head that persists nicely. Huge fresh hop aroma of citrus and pine over a base of honey. They must have dumped a tractor trailer full of hops into the fermenter.
Medium body and carbonation as expected, and a very resinous, lip smacking mouthfeel. Quite bitter right from the start, and although a substantial malt base provides some balance, it’s definitely not the main event.
A long, bitter finish of citrus zest brings things to an end. A hophead’s delight, but just a bit unbalanced I think. Still, very enjoyable, but not for the novice. AmEricanbrew (1808), Doing Rogue, Louisiana, USA

Big citrusy and floral hop aroma with some light caramel sweetness. Medium body and lightly carbonated. Great taste mirrors the aroma with big citrus and floral hop riding a lightly sweet pale male base. Wow, really good ipa here, love to try this on tap sometime. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 6, 2008 Brewed in Pacific City, Oregon. Combines Cascade, Magnum and Centennial Hops with Pale ale and Caramel malts. Specs: 85 IBU, 7.5% ABV and 17° Plato. Has a very complex aroma that blooms with fresh strawberries followed by light citrusy hop accents and some very faint pine notes. It has a mild carbonation with a rich creamy off white head and orange-amber body. The taste is very much like the aroma on this one, fruity, citrusy, and a powerful hop bite. Has a well balanced finish with a smooth combo of bitter and sweet flavors, although it may be slightly cloying. On the pallet it has a full bodied mouth feel with a somewhat thick aftertaste. All in all a very crafty and complex beer. This one would not make it on my A list of IPA’s (as I am an IPA snob), but nonetheless a solid beer. The fruity sweetness of this beer might compliment a spicy dinner. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Great initial lacing. Much grassy, spicy hop aroma. Flavor is pretty subtle...nice, citrusy hops and good malt backing. Fairly sweet. Good body and very nice. Good thirst quencher. Better than solid and needs a re-visit for sho! stetzel (22), portland, Oregon, USA
