An amazing exercise in hop flavour, bitterness and balance. This beer would be unpalatable to most of your average beer drinkers but they have done a fantastic job in packing in the IBUs without harshness and with balance.

22oz bottle. paired perfectly with pizza after a rough day at work. pours orange-amber with fully white head. the color and head are ideal to me for this style, so a perfect 5. nose is exploding with juicy grapefruit hop aroma. flavor is very bitter, more like a double ipa, and a wonderful piney hop flavor and caramel. body is a tad thin but the palate is long and solid. this could be the best (single) ipa i’ve ever had.

Bottle pours a deep, rich gold with thick head. Hop aroma is off the charts; like I just stuck my face in a bale of wet hops. Incredible. Sweet/bitter balance is robust and impeccable, as well as accompanies a full body. Lots of citrus here with notes of pine. Easily my favorite IPA at the moment and the one I recommend the strongest.

Bottle.. Poured a reddish/amber tone with a thick, frothy white head. Strong hoppy aroma, creamy palate for an IPA... yet slightly carbonated on the tongue. Strong toffee or caramel notes at first that end with the perfect hop finish. Other flavors of grains and maybe grape or prunes. This beer is awesome, very unique compared to a lot of other IPAs and what I look for when trying new IPAs.

Clear, effervescent, rusty orange with a big, firm, foamy-almost-rocky head which recedes leaving nice lacing. This beer has a great aroma hop profile. Both citrus and pine/resiny aromas mix together, with the citrus dominated by grapefruit notes. There are many variations on this theme, but Pelican has hit it right. The flavor actually opens with definite sweetness. Not a lot, but enough to catch your attention. This sweetness is _balanced_ well by bittering hops. Good job resisting the temptation to overdo the bittering. The beer is medium bodied with a very pleasant crispness. The mouthfeel is smooth at first, but a prickle of spicy lemony acidity comes up towards the finish. The finish itself is fairly long and dry with some of the acidity following through. I’ve tried a bunch of Northwest IPAs and this one is hands-down by far the best in my opinion.

Bottle courtesy of 11026. Vintage 2006. Pours a clear sparkling amber-orange with an average size lasting beige head. Aroma: Oh yeah that’s nice! Lots of Cascade hops (possibly my fave hop) nicely backed by sweet malt and fruit -- Interestingly the aroma changes slightly each time I smell it, one minute it’s mild the next it isn’t. Delicious flavour starts off nice and juicy with citrusy and floral hops followed by just enough sweet malt and a big bitter finish -- all very well balanced. Alcohol’s totally hidden. Great body. Simply an awesome IPA -- more please!!

Boy, do I love this beer. Every time I order from Liquid Solutions I try to get one of these beauties. Just about as good a NW hop bomb IPA as you could like, with a sweet orange body, frothy head, huge citrus nose and a gorgeous malt backbone. Very nicely tart and resiny, and consistent as hell. Just an awesome brew.
