Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA Feb 4, 2007 Out of a Bomber in Tokyo of all places. This is agreat IPA. Perfectly balanced no element overpowers any other one. Piney and citrus hops with wonderful frutal and floral overtones. Just fantatic everything is deftly executed. If you’re in Oregon and get to have this frequrently you are very lucky! Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 28, 2007 Updated: Jul 28, 2007Bomber pours out to a completely clear shade of bronzey orange, producing a brilliantly creamy head. Sweet valencia oranges and grapefruits soothe my nostrils after an intial blast of teary-eyed habanero spice. Subtle pine, mild butterscotch, pears, and a touch of garlic precede the grapefruit assault, which slowly gives way to a soft, clean finish. Strikingly balanced. A thriller. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Jan 25, 2007 22oz. bomber. Clear light amber color with a medium sized white head. Grapefruit hop aroma with some sweet caramel malt in the background. Quite bitter hoppy flavor. Lots of grapefruit, some tangerine and leaves your tongue searching for the malt backbone. It is there, way, way in the back, like it is afraid the hops are going to kick it’s ass. A bit too one dimensional for me, but I did rather enjoy it. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA Jan 17, 2007 Updated: Mar 28, 2007Pours a lovely clear gold/orange with a thick and creamy off white head. Aroma is a nice combination of earthy and citric hops, seems like many varieties employed. Other noted aromas include bready malt, pine, wild flowers and freshly picked oranges. Flavor is hop-centric but the malt profile is lovely and balancing, leading into a very complex but mild finish of the highest caliber. Palate is awesome too, long and refreshing, begging the next sip. Over the last two years, multiple stabs at this have proven it to be very consistent, I long for this beer at random intervals now. A very well rounded and satisfying IPA. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 10, 2007 Bottle shared by sliffy, thanks! Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma of earthy hops, sweet malt, and some caramel. Flavor of pine and earthy hops and some sweet malt. Medium body with a bitter/clean finish. Not bad. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jan 8, 2007 Bomber with gputty. Gold with an off white head. Sweet, fruity nose, orange citrus hop. Grapefruit zest bitter flavors over a solid malt base. Lingering bitter grass finish. Very good! sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 20, 2006 Bottle thanks to brock landers: Copper in color with a white head. Aroma, grapefruit, caramel, some pine. Flavor, earthy bitterness, some citrus, a nice malty background. Pretty good stuff. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Dec 3, 2006 Clear amber pour with a lasting head that provides excellent lacing. Heavily hopped nose is filled with rose petals, pine and orange/lemon/lime citrus. Earthy yeasts and soapy hops in body. This really lacks the malt definition which vaults IPAs into a higher tier for me. Lots of rose petals and orange rind in the hot alcoholic finish.
