Krausen (102), USA Sep 12, 2006 SOLID IPA. This has a great fruity ester that compliments the floral and fruity notes of the hops very well. Balanced without a lingering bitterness there is a decidely sweet malt backbone that supports the hops perfectly. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 19, 2006 Thanks Santa. Medium gold, thin white head. Nose is grapefruit, sweet malt, brown sugar. Flavor is grapefruit, dusty malt, orange, hop hop hop. Bitter grapefruit rind finish. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Aug 19, 2006 On draft at Henrys Tavern in Portland. Arrived at the table a clear medium amber with a smal off-white head that diminishes slowly nad leaves amople lace. Good IPA aroma, with toasty malt, clove and oher floral notes along with plentiful piney and grapefruit hops. Flavor is wow, hop city! Initital sweet, fruity malts featuring orange juice and some caramel, is quickly totally overrun by the unabashed hop character, bitter and acidic with pine, grapefruit rind, lime juice and pepper in the finsh. Puckering and powerful. Medium body, and crispy, prickly carbonation. Mmmmmm, hoppy! unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Jul 22, 2009light amber, beautiful lacing on the glass. spicy florals, sweet bitters. medium bodied. Sweet malt finish. contrary to most other IPAs. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 3, 2006 The pour reveals a slightly cloudy orange color with a thin white head. Very good aroma of citrusy and piney hops, there’s a definite orange smell to it. The flavor is very good with a focus on hops, citrusy and piney, it finishes with some bitterness. The body has a light to medium thickness with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. A very well done and enjoyable IPA. BillKismet (1894), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 5, 2006 Bronze w. ample head. Inf your face cascade hops w. some grapefruitiness. Strong cascade presence in flavor, but a nearly sufficient malt backbone to balance. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Jul 4, 2006 Bright copper amber with a thick white head.
Big citrus, hops and pine aroma and flavor with just a bit of a soapy taste on the finish.
