-A rich head of foam crowns the translucid orange.
-Luxurious, booming orange hop flowers morph into wooden hop resins and sandy angles.
-As the aroma announces, this is a quintessential West Coast IPA folks; fruity hops all over and just enough malts to support.
-Body is slender and quenching, making this a very drinkable pint.
What if you dig deeper?
-A wooden hop bitterness lingers beautifully.
-The biscuity maltiness fits perfectly with the colourful hoppiness.
-Orange pulp, pink grapefruit, and a plethora of other citrus fruit celebrate their seaside reunion.
-You could complain that it doesn’t have any unique personality, but who cares! This is so well-brewed, clean, and scrumptious, you couldn’t ask more from a typical West Coast IPA.

Pours a bright transparent orange with an off-white head. Very citrusy throughout. Sweet citrus up front with a hint of apricot and caramel. Big grapefruit hop finish. Well balanced. One of the better IPA’s I’ve had in a while. Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 1, 2006 Golden-amber colour. Rich piney aroma with grapefruit and breadcrust accents. Fresh, rich hops - grapefruit, pine needles and wood mix with toffee and breadcrust. Dry, substantial body but never resiny nor cloying. Outstanding example. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA

Hazy orange with a beautiful head and great lace. It’s exactly what an IPA should look like. Piney and grassy hops blend wonderfully with a strong malt backbone in the nose. The first thing you notice on first sip is the extreme dry-hopping, but it’s done very well. It melds great with the strong malt backbone, and hints of caramel, honey and peppery spices. Finishes strong and dry. Again, another great one at Pelican. Thanks, Andre! Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 19, 2006 Sampled from bottle at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2005. Pours slightly hazy dark golden and a foamy off-white head. Grassy hoppy aroma, like a newly mowed lawn. Sweet malty, fruity and sugary notes, fresh and typical American. Grassy and very bitter hoppy flavor with nutty notes. Fresh, full and tasty and well balanced despite the heavy hoppyness. Yummi!! harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 12, 2006 This is quite possibly one of the tastiest IPAs I have ever tried. Pours a really pretty golden amber with a huge foamy cloud-like head. Amazingly balanced, with a rich malt character that reaches new heights of flavor and a hop bite that reaches out and slaps your palate. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Pours a nice bright amber color with a pretty good sized offwhite rocky head that stays well and clings to the sides of the tulip on the way down. Aroma is all c-hops. Much grapefruit and pine in the nose.. There is a hint of caramel malt there as well though. Flavor is very hoppy. Lots of citrus grapefruit notes up front give way to a sweet caramel malt backbone in the middle and then come back to finish bitter. Very smooth and medium bodied. A very nice IPA. Quite enjoyable.. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Updated: Nov 14, 2006Rerate (8-2-9-5-17=4.1): Pine, citrus, floral aroma. Clear orange tan body is topped by a low off white head that recedes to partial cover. Sweet malts and plenty of citrus hops(orange, grapefruit) with strong bitterness that sneaks up and lingers in the aftertaste. Thick, chewy medium full body with fair carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Bottle (Produced Jan-06) sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere. Original Rating (7-3-6-3-12=3.1): Leafy, floral, orange, grapefruit, citrus hop nose. Hazy orange-tan coloured body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled white head that recedes slowly to cover. Fairly aggressive bitterness is not fully supported by the underlying malts with heavy citrus hop character. Medium body with lively, strong carbonation. Sampled on tap at the Falling Rock post GABF 2005.
