Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 19, 2009 Bomber courtesy of writerljberg – thanks Luke! Pours a glowing dark gold with a 2 finger dense off-white head that lasts throughout the entire glass and leaves spotty lacing. The nose is sweet ripe citrus and caramel malt. The taste is toffee, tangerine, orange peel and tart yellow grapefruit in the finish that lingers. Medium mouthfeel. Solid IPA – thanks again Luke. leems (147), Portland, Oregon, USA May 15, 2009 I must say Phil the Pelican is on to a good beer here. I get very little aroma off of this beer, the little I get is understated and piney. The flavor is pine, herbal and resiny hops with a little malt character. The finish is nice, a little pine and alcohol, delicious. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA May 13, 2009 really fantastic beer. smells amazing and the taste is tremendously balanced and complex. from bottle Snojerk321 (1911), San Diego, California, USA May 10, 2009 22oz bottle from liquid solutions. Pours clear copper color with a fluffy off white head that left some spotty lacing. Nose of citrus hops and a touch of sweet malt. Flavor is big on hop bitterness while a good balance of sweet malts really makes this a well balanced and tasty IPA... RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA May 8, 2009 Lots of orange/grapefruit herbal hop character in the aroma. Light malt sweetness, scrubbed away by a very nice citrus hop brillo pad. Well balanced. Very nice. Maddog (230), Kettering, Ohio, USA May 7, 2009 From Clingman71. He got this one at Sam’s Warehouse in Chicago. This IPA begins with big malt and continues with spice, and a big, crisp, piney hop finish. This is a pretty balanced IPA, but one with a distinct malt and hop presence. A very flavorful and complex IPA, and one with a thick body. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 4, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a medium thick frothy off-white head. Perfumy slightly oxidized fruity hop aroma with light caramel. Flavor is chewy piney hops, sweet caramel, fairly full flavored, nothing special here. Medium bodied with a full fluffy carbonation. I’m sure this is probably much better from the pub.
clingman71 (238), Centerville, Ohio, USA May 3, 2009 22oz bomber. This is one solid IPA. Pours a clear orangish amber with a nice lacing head. Great citrus hop aroma over some caramel malt. Flavor is quintessential American citrus, spicy hopped IPA, resinous and longlasting sticky mouthfeel. Nice building bitterness. Very solid and enjoyable, if I could only get it in Ohio.
