Pours a clear, medium golden-yellow color; white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Dense, resiny citrus hops and passion fruit in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: sharp, resiny citrus and orange hop presence dominates here; excellent hop oiliness and chewiness without much astringency (though there’s still a bit of a rough, zippy hop character); light candy sugar maltiness hiding in the background; slightly floral presence opens up with a bit of time in the glass. Lengthy, citrus hop and candy sugar malt finish; fruit and resin-filled ending. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Pours a nice bright amber color with a pretty good sized offwhite rocky head that stays well and clings to the sides of the tulip on the way down. Aroma is all c-hops. Much grapefruit and pine in the nose.. There is a hint of caramel malt there as well though. Flavor is very hoppy. Lots of citrus grapefruit notes up front give way to a sweet caramel malt backbone in the middle and then come back to finish bitter. Very smooth and medium bodied. A very nice IPA. Quite enjoyable.. Pours a nice, thick cheddar orange with a nice ivory head. Aroma is malted orange grapefruit, with subtle hints of tangerine and pine. Nice Isopryl alcohol presence in the background. Flavor is a bit on the malty side, with hints of bread and grapefruit (more of the former). Tangy finish that doesn’t quite add anything to the overall picture. Nice beer, but too malty for my taste. unclemattie (2442), Georgia, USA

Appearance was hazy golden to amber in color, white head, good retention, nicely recreated with a swirl. The aroma was strong amber ale-like, citrus, pine, and caramel. The flavor followed the aroma, pine hops first, citrus second, caramel underneath, along with a presumably hop-originated spicey character. The mouthfeel was very full, a big beer in heartiness and hoppiness. Thanks, Bert, for the wonderful opportunity on this one. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
