Floral, herbal and strong hops aroma with caramely malts, also notes of pine. The strong hops carried over to the body with a very bitter citrus rind finish. Biscuity, caramely malts were amped up just enough to balance the hops. So standard an IPA though...Thanks Bill (batkins) for the bottle! jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Orange rind citrus nose. Lots of citrus rind hops. Biting grapefruit pith finish. Some buscuit and toast in this beer, but it is definitely a hop centered brew. TAR (2093), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

The aroma consists of Cascades, which have no trouble emitting their grapefruit rind characteristics and floral tones. This starts with an adequate feel to the palate before the flavor turns neutral in the middle and ends with notes of plastic, bitter orange rind, and pine sap. This isn’t as pleasant, IMO, as it sounds. I find the bitternes in this as being somewhat unpleasant. Ususally, with me, the more hops, the marrier. The longer you let the finish linger, the spiciness, dryness, and offbeat bitterness play a major and unusual role. While tasty, this is little more than redundant, one-dimensional, Cascade hop juice. PhillyBeer2112 (2088), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Cascade-o-rama! Overwhelming aroma of citrussy hops with a tropical touch, backed by a pleasant whiff of toffee. Predominant hop flavor; citrus, evergreen and tropical. Gently sweet caramellish malts beneath. Quite filling, slick. Finishes on the drier side, with a fine, lingering bitterness. Archetype west coast IPA, just lovely! Fresh grapefruit and pine aroma come easily.
Plenty of body delivers a well balanced, brew that ends with a long bitter finish.
Very nice IPA. You need to drink one of these just to remind yourself that Cascades hops are still doing the job as well as any of the newer hop varieties and will be around for a while with good reason. bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2008 bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting - Pours hazy orange and smells of floral and citrus hops. The flavor is intensely hopped and is definitely a west coast style IPA. The hops profile is very nice, but I thought this one was kind of out of balance. It has a medium body and the expected bitter finish.
