Medium amber yellow pour with a thin head. Smell is oranges, caramel and honey. Flavor is oranges and lemon. Palate is a hint thin and bubbly. Hoppy overall but a bit too mild and underplayed for me. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2007 22oz bottle. Pours with a light haze and a nice orange color with minimal head. Though the head comes to life as it warms with just a quick swirl of the glass. Sweet aroma with light citrus. Pine with citrus peal notes are predominate in the flavor. Fairly bitter with minimal malt presence. Medium body with a dryish finish. A fair brew. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 18, 2008 This beer strikes me as strange in that the aroma is massively hoppy but the hops are so well concealed in the flavor that I barely notice them despite it being 80 IBUs. Such a smooth drink, very grapefruity but not in a cloying way. One of my very favorite IPAs. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Clear amber pour with a lasting head that provides excellent lacing. Heavily hopped nose is filled with rose petals, pine and orange/lemon/lime citrus. Earthy yeasts and soapy hops in body. This really lacks the malt definition which vaults IPAs into a higher tier for me. Lots of rose petals and orange rind in the hot alcoholic finish. frylock (1026), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Deep golden brown with a tight head. Fruity aroma full of cascade hops. Fruity citric hop flavor leads into a bready mlat body. Finishes with a big floral hop flavor and a nice bitterness. Very nice, well balanced IPA Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 21, 2004 Now this is how an IPA should be! Beautiful fluffy pour with tons of lacing. A cascade aroma you could sniff all day - herbs, pine and grass are abundant. Very tangy hop bite grabs and takes hold of you, starts fairly fruity but ends spicy and tingly. Hops leave a nice, resinous, pine cone residual. Definately a winner. Thanks to Derek Arent for the brew. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2005 Bottle: Massive aromas of freshly harvested hops. Very "planty" (to quote my wife) -- like you have a virtual pine forest in a glass! It has a cloudy gold color with a small white head. About halfway in between the drink, there is some sweetness. This is really good -- what a classic IPA should taste like. Kudos to Pelican brewery and thanks to Indiana_Red for sharing.
